We do not interrupt our experiences for late arrivals or to take calls, messages or recordings.

Acceptance

By completing payment through the selected payment method, I, the guest, hereby acknowledge that I have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Rules, Terms and Conditions.

The guest's electronic payment constitutes acceptance of this Rules, Terms and Conditions, and serves as his / her / its electronic signature in accordance with the Mexican Commercial Code (Código de Comercio) and the Advanced Electronic Signature Law (Ley de Firma Electrónica Avanzada).

The guest agrees that his / her / its electronic acceptance through payment has the same legal force and effect as a handwritten signature and constitutes a legally binding agreement under the laws of the United Mexican States (Estados Unidos Mexicanos).

Applicable Law

This agreement is governed by the laws of the United Mexican States (Estados Unidos Mexicanos) and any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Mexico City, Mexico (Ciudad de México, Estados Unidos Mexicanos).
Participation
Definitions
-
Participant: A person who is involved in or takes part in a tour, excursion, or other organized travel activity.
-
No-show: A customer who fails to arrive for a scheduled service (such as a tour, flight, or hotel reservation) and doesn't cancel or reschedule beforehand. No-shows are not entitled to any service and/or refund.
Requirements

All participants must be 18 years of age or older and carry a valid, government-issued photo ID.

Valid IDs for all countries but the United Mexican States: Valid passport with a valid FMM (Mexican Multiple Entry Form)

Valid IDs for the United Mexican States: Valid passport, INE, FMM permanente, Cédula Profesional, Cartilla SMN, Licencia de Manejo

Valid IDs for the United States of America: Valid passport with a valid FMM (Mexican Multiple Entry Form), Valid Green Card, Valid Real ID

Participants' photo IDs may be scanned, photographed and / or recorded for security purposes under our Privacy Terms.

All participants must comply with all the rules and policies listed here as well as local laws and regulations or will have to leave the experience losing any right to participate then and in the future.

Non-complying participants will be considered no-shows and will be treated accordingly.
PAYMENT AND RESERVATION
Finance
Payment
-
Accepted bank cards in exchangeable currencies: MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Diners' Club, Discover, and JCB.
-
Prices are charged as published in the booking page and converted to your card's local currency.
-
Prices for walking tours are fixed; prices for day experiences may be adjusted depending on group size, sometimes we have a group discount available.
-
For exceptional, late, local adjustments, or any other last-minute transaction, cash is accepted only in Mexican Pesos ($) (MXN) or international cards or transfers. US Dollars (USD) or any other currency are not accepted in cash.
Taxes
-
All Mexican taxes are included by law in our published prices. Foreign taxes will always remain the responsibility of the purchaser.
Trade Tariffs
-
Country-specific imposed tariffs or surcharges apply for participants from nations which impose them on our services.
-
All participants must disclose their nationality.
-
Participants from tariff-imposing nations who do not disclose their nationality are considered no-shows and will be treated accordingly.
-
Event participation cannot proceed without immediate and full payment of assigned extra costs. Unpaid extra costs will result in a no-show status and will be treated accordingly.
Insurance
-
All non-vehicular activities, including culinary experiences, are at participants' own risk.
-
All land vehicles are fully insured for physical damage. Water vehicles have limited local government insurance.
-
There is some limited coverage through some resellers.
Tips
-
Service tips or gratuities are not required but are encouraged if you enjoyed the service or experience, at your discretion. You can always leave a tip and message at www.paypal.me/xicowalks Thank you!
Booking
Reservations
-
Individual or group reservations for participants do not exist if the name under which they are registered is not paid for or is associated with a reservation number.
-
If you do not have a number, you do not have a reservation.
-
When our system shows availability of reservation slots for an event, it represents real-time inventory.
-
All events have different close-off, cancellation, and late booking times.
-
We cannot guarantee continuous availability; please book in the same session, as these times may change at any moment.
-
Private tours require a minimum of four tickets paid at regular prices, with a maximum group size of ten. Each additional participant beyond four pays a regular ticket price.
-
Verify private event date availability with us before booking.
-
Custom private events or tours require a minimum of two months' advance notice when requested at a different time than scheduled. Contact us to verify the private tour's date and time availability before booking.
Rescheduling, Cancellations and Disputes
Rescheduling
-
Self-rescheduling is available three or more days prior to the experience; some resellers will charge a rescheduling fee of up to 10%.
-
Please use the booking confirmation portal from your provider for rescheduling. We do not take calls or texts.
-
All times are in Mexican Central Time (GMT-6) and counted by the minute from the original date and time of the first booking.
Cancellation
-
We do not and cannot refund your card as we do not get your funds 24 hours after the experience is over and we do not have nor save your financial data.
-
Refunds are available through our resellers or bank card processors, who manage your money and data, only.
-
All dates and times are in Mexican Central Time (GMT-6) and counted by the minute from the original date and time of the first booking.
-
The guest agrees that any other communication, notice, cancellation request, or modification made through any other means (including but not limited to: telephone calls, emails, text messages, verbal communication, physical letters, or any other form of communication) shall be deemed INVALID and SHALL NOT BE ACCEPTED by the provider.
Disputes
-
Any dispute placed outside of us or any of our resellers, i.e. banks or card issuers, takes from 90 to 180 days to be resolved due to interstate and international regulations.
-
You have six days (144 hours counted from the start of your experience) to place a dispute, after this period you will be considered a no-show and refunds cannot and will not be issued.
-
If your refund is authorized after any dispute, please expect at least 24 working days for funds to be returned. Take in count Mexican bank holidays plus your own local ones. Funds go from a bank in Mexico, through currency exchange if you used an international currency, or through two currency exchanges if you did not use an international currency, then through your bank card processor and finally to your account.
ACTIVITIES AND OPERATION
Activities
Walking Tours
-
Please gather at the exact street address provided, on the sidewalk by the curb. We don't search for missing participants or make calls.
-
Do not accept drop-offs by third parties at any address other than designated starting points.
-
Do not use brand names for directions; use the provided street address for the starting point only.
-
Please arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled start time. Tours and services begin precisely on schedule without exception. No late arrivals or joining tours in progress are allowed.
-
There are no refunds for no-shows or late arrivals.
-
Walks begin after a sitting-down, introduction chat aimed to bring you into the local context.
-
Participant-required / demanded diversion(s) or stop(s) that are not related to an emergency, cannot and will not be honored.
Day Trips
-
Please be at the main entrance of your designated accommodation at the curb before the scheduled pick-up time.
-
Pick-up service is available only for pre-arranged day experiences from select Mexico City boroughs: Cuauhtémoc, Hidalgo, Juárez, Coyoacán, Obregón, Carranza, and Cuajimalpa.
-
There are no refunds for no-shows, late arrivals, or addresses outside the service area.
Day Trips Accompaniment and Services
-
The designated host shall accompany all day trip excursions for the entire duration, from the scheduled departure point in Mexico City through the complete return journey to the original departure location.
-
The host shall provide: (a) Introductory briefings and contextual information regarding planned activities; (b) Historical commentary and landmark explanations during transit periods; (c) Such additional educational content as may enhance the guest experience.
-
The host shall be responsible for coordinating and optimizing: (a) Arrival and departure scheduling in accordance with site-specific requirements; (b) Procurement of admission tickets, access permits, fees, and any other required documentation or payments for visited locations; (c) Timing and coordination of rest periods, meal breaks, and comfort stops as appropriate to each destination.

The host shall utilize identical transportation methods as guests throughout the entire excursion to maintain continuous group cohesion and ensure coverage under the applicable group insurance policy.

Guests acknowledge that host personnel represent the company's primary operational asset and safety resource. For the protection and optimal experience of all participants, guests agree to always follow host instructions and guidance during the excursion period. Failure to comply with host directives may result in the guest's removal from the activity without refund or, in the departure of the host, without any further responsibility for the host and/or company.
All Experiences

Please expect a sit-down, introduction-into-context chat at the beginning of public walking tours.

Please expect an introduction-to-context chat during drive-out at the beginning of public day trips.
-
Coffee break service is provided before public walking tours.
-
Water bottles are provided on public day trips.
-
Please allow at least one hour within the city for moving to, between, and after our experiences due to traffic.
-
We recommend using traffic navigation applications.
-
We are a premium operator specializing in small groups with exclusive access to curated experiences.
-
We take a relaxed pace with adequate time at locations without tourist traps or commission-based stops.
Communications

Please remain attentive to your booking app / text / email, as there may be last-minute instructions since we meet in public spaces and may be coming from a previous experience.
-
If our communications go unanswered by the start time of the experience, we will take it as lack of interest, and will become a no-show with according treatment.

Please contact us in advance of the experience if you need directions or assistance.
-
We do not interrupt our experiences by taking calls, messages or recordings once they have started.
Operation

All our staff are properly trained as hosts and in Mexican history.
Language
-
All our staff are proficient in the language to which they have been assigned.
IDs
-
All our staff carry a Mexico University Tours/Mex at Max ID and are properly licensed.

You may request to see their IDs for identification purposes only,
Content
Content Advisory
-
Experiences may include mature, sexually explicit, or historically factual speech.
-
Possible elements to be encountered include alcoholic drinks and tasting, enclosed or open high-speed elevators, heights of hundreds of feet, hot air balloons, floating vessels, hours-long enclosed vehicle rides, dark exhibits, live animal encounters, historic and allegedly haunted locations.
-
Main Catholic holidays as well as local Catholic holidays are celebrated with firecrackers that go off all day long, if you are noise-intolerant, please avoid these dates plus Independence Day, September 15 and 16, and New Year, December 31st and January 1st.

There is no accommodation or refunds for any inability, mentioned here or not, to complete any experiences, tours, services, or activities.

All content shared is protected under Mexican Constitution Article 7 and the Bill of Rights of the U.S.A.
HEALTH, FOODS, DRESS AND SUPPORT
Health
Physical

Please arrive in good health, as our experiences include extensive walks, primarily outdoors.
-
Pregnant people are encouraged not to participate.
-
Vaccination of all kinds is recommended for all participants and hosts.
-
It is your responsibility to advise us if passing through magnetic arches or any other security checkpoint searches of your person or belongings is safe and allowed by you.
-
It is also your responsibility to advise us of any other condition that may affect the experience.
-
There are very limited restroom facilities along our routes.
Only When Required by Authorities
-
Personal hand sanitizer applications and face masks covering the nose and mouth must always be worn.
-
Physical distancing must be maintained, and there will be no physical contact between hosts and participants.
-
Participants without face masks or those not complying with any of these requirements cannot join experiences, will be considered no-shows and will be treated accordingly.
Foods
Food and Drinks
-
No outside food, drinks, or liquids are permitted. We usually begin our experiences at venues that do not allow outside products.
-
All participants, especially non-Mexican visitors, should exercise moderation with local spicy cuisine and agave-based drinks and spirits.
-
Prefer quality over quantity as Traveler's Stomach Discomfort is not an excuse for tardiness or not showing up. Refunds cannot and will not be issued.
-
Provided food and beverages cannot be exchanged or taken away, and no takeout containers are provided for leftover food or drinks.
Diets
-
We do not cater to any diet, kosher or else; or special diets.
Allergy
-
We do not take any allergy precautions in food preparation.
Consumption
-
All food and beverage consumption are at participants' own responsibility and risk.
-
The service provider is hereby released from all liability related to provided food and drinks.
Dress Code
Clothing
-
Closed-toe shoes are recommended.
-
Revealing clothing is discouraged.
-
Avoid expensive jewelry and valuable items.
-
Wear caps, sunglasses, and sunscreen for daytime experiences.
Care and Support
People with Disabilities
-
There is very limited and restricted accommodation for mobility, visual, or hearing needs.
-
Please check with us in advance, as most sites we visit, some as old as 2,000 years, may present challenges as they cannot be adapted for people with disabilities.
-
Caretakers of disabled participants may join any experience, they will not be charged for the guiding services, but they will still need to pay for tickets, transportation and/or special transportation and food if required.
-
Caretakers are required to be over 18 years of age and carry an ID as specified in Participation Requirements.
-
Caretakers must have a valid nursing / caring license in Mexico. Foreign licenses must be apostilled and officially translated to Spanish.
-

Support Animals

Only certified service and/or support animals are permitted.

Animals must have all proper documents physically available.

Mexican Secretaría de Salud certification or apostilled foreign certification are required.

Documents must be in Spanish or translated by a certified specialist.

The institution complies fully with local laws and specifically with Article 34 of Mexico City's Law on Animals.

Calls will only be made to numbers beginning with +52 or +1 in exceptional cases and restricted circumstances.
Earthquake, Eruption, Flashflood, Tornado, Hurricane, Tsunami
Alerts
-
Alerts come in real time; no time is allowed to be wasted.
-
Hosts have extensive emergency training for these cases.
-
You get a close-to-one-minute warning to seek shelter at a secure meeting point.
-
Alert systems include push-alarms on cell phones, police cruisers, first-responding vehicles, public loudspeakers, TV and radio stations, and other institutional systems.
-
Follow your host's instructions immediately and unconditionally.
-
There should be no running, screaming, or pushing, as they are not allowed or tolerated.
-
If you are above four stories high: stay put and for earthquakes, tornadoes and hurricanes, seek shelter near heavy furniture that can hold collapsing ceilings and walls, creating a life-saving triangular cavity.
EXTERNAL FACTORS AND FORCE MAJEURE
External Factors
Weather

Tours operate in all weather conditions; indoor alternatives are available during rain when possible.

Come prepared for all weather conditions.
-
There are no rain checks or refunds of any kind.
Closures and Diversions
-
In case of street closures, unexpected or not on route A, we are always prepared with routes B, C and more.
-
In case of venue closures, unexpected or not, as they are operated by third parties, we just cannot guarantee access, and the narrative will continue without entering the venue.
-
Peaceful gatherings may occur as we operate in the most visited and sensitive areas of the nation's capital, we do not cancel our experiences during these gatherings, as they are fully designed to avoid these events.
-
Please use common sense while navigating around and avoiding these events on your way to our experience.
-
There are no refunds for closures / demonstrations / gatherings / meetings-related changes, as they are not considered force majeure.
Force Majeure
Full Suspension
-
It is at our discretion, and only at it, for us to designate a closure under a force majeure designation.
-
Please remain attentive to the email and telephone that you provided as force majeure events may happen at a very short notice.
-
In case of force majeure you will be asked if you want to reschedule or if you want a refund.
-
If our communications go unanswered for over 72 hours after the originally planned start of the experience, this will be taken as a lack of interest and treated accordingly as a no-show.
-
This refers to the full cancellation of activities, at any moment prior to its starting time or during the experience by the host(s), in these cases, a refund will be issued in time and amount, as foreseen and stated in these rules.
-
If Force Majeure is initiated or provoked by participant(s), no refunds will be issued to these, but only to those present and not involved.
-
Only Force Majeure events happening within Mexico City limits, and then only when directly affecting our experience, will be considered.
-
Any Force Majeure event happening outside of Mexico City limits, cannot be considered.
SECURITY AND RECORDING
Security
Public Safety

We take your security extremely seriously, taking you through some of the safest areas in and around town, and have never experienced an incident in over 30 years.
-
Mexico's crime rate remains well below the US average as of June 2025.
-
If you do not consider our services or our city safe, or simply do not feel safe, please do not book or come, as we do not divert or cancel our experiences or issue refunds based on participants' feelings.
-
The more police that you see, the safer that it is; It is the opposite to other places.
Photo and Video
Cameras

Simple mobile photography is always allowed except in some clearly designated areas.
-
Flash photography, extended filming, lighting, tripods, and drones are never allowed.
-
Professional and / or large equipment is not allowed.
LANGUAGE AND EXPRESSION

Languages

There will be only one language per tour, it will be the language of the reservation page.

Guides are proficient in the designated tour language.
Speech
Terminology

Local, official, and UNESCO / UN-recognized names, terms, and standards are used.

US or other foreign-given names and terms for Mexican locations are not used and cannot be requested.

Mexican Spanish format is the only one used for last names, addresses, dates, and times.
Foreign or Local Political Expressions

Simple use, display or promotion of foreign or local political, hate, discrimination, or violence speech; spoken or displayed in imagery, merchandise or print is permanently forbidden and is a cause for the immediate and definitive conclusion of services without any responsibility for the provider.
OBJECT LIMITATIONS AND PROHIBITIONS
Objects
Large Items

Backpacks and other large objects must be checked in and left at coat-check desks in some venues.

While most services are free, any costs incurred fall on the guest.
Prohibited Items
-
All vehicles, including bicycles, skateboards, scooters, skates, drones, and others, are not permitted.

According to city laws, smoking or vaping is only allowed in open public spaces and not allowed in enclosed spaces.
-
Outside foods, drinks, or liquids are not allowed inside venues.
-
Illegal products of any kind are never permitted or tolerated.
-
Weapons of any kind are not permitted; this includes toys and fake weapons.
-
Pets of any kind are not allowed in our experiences, except for service and support animals (see Support Animals under Health, above).
PRIVACY AND DATA

The Provider shall maintain electronic records of this transaction and agreement, which the guest agrees shall constitute sufficient proof of the agreement between the parties in accordance with the Mexican Commercial Code.

We reserve the right to modify these rules permanently with or without notice based on legislative changes, internal policies, diplomatic or international relations, service requirements, or any other reason.
